Frequently Asked Questions

Over the years we have been asked a number of questions (over and over). We have tried to answer the most common ones below.

We say that with normal use of the table you should have about 5000 plays, that would be roughly 3-5 years.

You don’t need to change the cloth when moving the table but if it’s faded or has knicks and tears then this is the time to do it. This will save you money on the labour and with all the new colours that we have you would be able to match your decor.

You would need to measure your table from nose of rubber to nose of rubber on the width end of table. If it’s 44″ or 46″ then you have a 8′. If it’s 50″ then a 9′, 56″ then a 10′ and last but not least 70′ would be a 12′.

This happens often, but here at Ace Billiards we only sell Championship Dupont, Teflon cloth. It is bathed in Dupont Teflon (not sprayed on ), to give it protection in spills/stain provention.

What you need to do is, bounce a ball off the rail to see if it has a quick reaction from the rail rubber. If the ball responds with a loud ‘thud’ sound, then the rubber needs replacing.

We see an average of 12 to 15 years. It will depend on how long the manufacturer has the rubber on the shelf before it is used.

Depending on the style and size of your pool table, an 8 foot can weigh in at approx 600 pounds. A nine foot can weigh 800 pounds.

Depending on weather and traffic. It should take approx 3 hours, from dismantle to re assemble.

You could move your own pool table, if you like. You will need to keep in mind that the cost of a professional move will be far less expensive than purchasing new slate or parts for your table.

Yes, we have specially made dollies to accommodate the weight of your pool table. This enables flooring companies to maneuver your table easily.
